Outdoor & Adventurous Activity or more recently Outdoor Learning is an organised approach to learning involving activities and experiences that normally take place outside; have an adventurous, challenging, residential or learning component; involve physical activity and teaches a respect for the environment. Outdoor learning contributes to the overall and rounded development of young people.
This course will show you how outdoor learning can be incorporated into your curriculum; teach you how to use the Outdoor Learning Cards (worth £95 + VAT) provided with the course and give you information on the 2 hour practical twilight courses that are scheduled throughout the year to enable you to build a full outdoor learning curriculum that can be delivered on your school site.
This session will cover the wide ranging opportunities from adventurous to environmental activities, PE in the curriculum, fieldwork in science and geography, team building as part of Personal, Social, Health and Economic education, forest school type activities and out of school learning opportunities.
- During the day of the course there will be food available.
- Please wear clothing and footwear appropriate for physical activity.
